Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Energy Assistance Services Case Specialist in Michigan to assist low-income clients with food, energy, housing, and transportation needs through transactional services.

You will greet clients, manage multiple cases daily, promote Pathway of Hope, and coordinate with community partners while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics. This position is on-site and requires a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in social work, sociology, psychology, or related field.
• LLBSW or LBSW preferred for licensure.
• Experience handling confidential client information and case planning.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and establish rapport with professionalism.
• Handle 4–5 cases daily (20–25 per week) to support client needs.
• Promote Pathway of Hope services and facilitate case management.
• Use assessment tools to aid case planning.
• Coordinate services to meet client goals with available resources.
• Maintain relationships with community agencies for coordination.
• Participate in meetings and committees as requested.
• Learn the Information Management System used for client files and reports.
• Enter and monitor fund transactions and request allocations as needed.
