Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an IT Technician 5 position within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) – User Services. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

The technician will work as a member of the Endpoint Services unit and will be responsible for supporting and managing endpoint devices across the University’s central campus and offsite locations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software.
• One (1) year of relevant experience as an IT Technician 4 in Nevada State service; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage endpoint devices across campus and offsite locations.
• Deploy, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and lifecycle manage OIT-managed computing devices and peripherals.
• Coordinate deployments and perform data transfers in compliance with security requirements.
