Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is hiring an Accountant Technician 1 in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to support budget development, reporting, and billing for recharge centers. The role also assists with HR activity related to faculty, staff and student hires, onboarding, and employee relations questions.

Responsibilities include processing journals, managing recharge budgets and rate packets, preparing budget adjustments, and developing funding reports.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with two years of financial records maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Alternative: two years as Accounting Assistant III or one year as Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing equipment, materials, and services for the department.
• Receiving, reviewing, tracking and processing of department journals.
• Managing OIT recharge centers billing, communications, budgets, and preparation of yearly recharge rate packets.
• Preparation of budget adjustments and development of reports on funding status and projections.
• Ensuring compliant spending and maintaining student wage allocations and costing allocations.
• Assisting with OIT Business Office HR activities and onboarding/offboarding processes.
