Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, set up and teardown rooms between cases, and reprocess endoscopes and instruments.

The role offers varied shifts, including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour options to fit your schedule. Ideal candidates hold an Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology credential, plus CER within 18 months and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology credential required.
• CER within 18 months and BLSWithin 30 days (AHA).
• Excellent communication and infection control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Performs accurate documentation in patient records as directed by standards.
• Maintains aseptic technique to keep a clean environment.
• Communicates effectively with team members, patients and families.
• Assists providers with procedures and treatments.
• Sterilizes and reprocesses endoscopes and instruments according to policy.
• Prepares and stocks exam and procedure rooms.
