Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center within the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, handle instruments, and reprocess endoscopes. Multiple shift options include 8-, 9-, and 10-hour shifts.

Credentials include CER within 18 months and BLS within 30 days, with education in Surgical Technology or related programs. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Eligible for Surgical Technologist certification or registry.
• CER within 18 months and BLS within 30 days required.
• Experience with endoscope reprocessing and instrument handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Document care and nursing records per standards.
• Maintain asepsis and sterile environment; separate clean and dirty areas.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families.
• Assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the RN.
• Sterilize and reprocess instruments per policy and guidelines.
• Prepare and stock exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport per hospital policy.
• Assist with inventory and restocking of supplies.
