Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, and help with instruments, while reprocessing endoscopes between cases.

Multiple shift options are available (8-, 9-, and 10-hour shifts) and a sign-on as well as relocation bonus are offered. An Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification is required, with CER within 18 months and BLS within 30

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification required.
• CER within 18 months and BLS within 30 days after hire.
• Excellent communication and infection control knowledge; aims for aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures and instrument setup.
• Reprocess endoscopes and maintain sterile technique.
• Assist in cleaning and sterilization of instruments per policy.
• Prepare procedure rooms with supplies and equipment.
• Collect specimens and transport per hospital policy.
• Document patient data as directed by RN and unit standards.
• Inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Provide care within scope under RN supervision.
