Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, and help with instrument setup and room turnover between cases. Reprocessing of endoscopes and equipment maintenance are included within duties.

Multiple shift options are available, including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour shifts. Strong collaboration, documentation, and aseptic technique are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• CER within 18 months - HSPA
• BLS within 30 days - AHA
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Aseptic technique knowledge

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Collect data on assigned patients per RN guidance.
• Document patient records per standards.
• Maintain aseptic environment and sterile technique.
• Communicate effectively with team, patients and families.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Stock exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport per policy.
• Reprocess endoscopes and manage department equipment.
• Assist RN and physicians as directed.
