Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will help with patient care, instruments, specimen collection and room setup/teardown between cases, including reprocessing endoscopes and equipment.

Choose from multiple shifts (8-, 9-, 10-hour) to fit your schedule. Requires related education and certifications with opportunities for growth within Carle Health’s network.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certification is required.
• CER certification within 18 months- Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
• BLS certification within 30 days- American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment in the Digestive Health Center.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by the RN and unit standards.
• Document accurately in patient records as directed by standards and guidelines.
• Maintain aseptic technique to keep a clean and sterile environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients and families.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Assist in cleaning and sterilization of instruments per policy.
• Stock and prepare exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport per hospital policy.
• Serve as a resource for technical equipment within the department.
