Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, support physicians with instruments, and reprocess endoscopes and accessories throughout cases.

Choose from multiple shifts (8-, 9-, and 10-hour options). The role involves collaboration with the RN, inventory, and room setup/teardown to ensure efficient, safe procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Surgical Technology certificate required.
• CER within 18 months and BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by the RN and unit standards.
• Documents accurately in patient records per guidelines.
• Maintains sterile technique and environmental cleanliness in procedures.
• Communicates effectively with team members, patients and families.
• Assists providers with procedures and treatments.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments per policy and guidelines.
• Prepares and stocks exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtains specimens and transports per hospital policy.
• Assists with inventory and restocking of supplies.
