Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, set up and teardown rooms, and reprocess endoscopes and instruments.

The role offers multiple shift options, including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour shifts, with a sign-on and relocation bonus available. Strong teamwork and infection control knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and hand/eye coordination.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and sterile technique.
• Ability to problem solve in relation to procedures and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Perform accurate documentation in patient records.
• Maintain sterile environment and separation of clean/dirty areas.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients and families.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Reprocess endoscopes and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Prepare and stock exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport according to hospital policy.
• Assist with inventory and restocking of supplies.
