Job summary

SCA Health in the United States is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy to support perioperative care in the GI/OR setting. You will develop individualized perioperative plans of care, monitor patient status, and ensure safety and infection control throughout the procedure and recovery.

Ideal candidates hold an active nursing license and GI/OR or medical/surgical nursing experience, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• One year of GI, OR and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment.
• Specialty certification in GI Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care by implementing the plan.
• Protect the patient from injury and follow safety procedures.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and report unsafe conditions.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Practice and monitor aseptic technique and infection prevention.
• Prepare scopes for use and maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories.
• Provide patient education regarding perioperative care, recovery, and expectations.
• Transfer care and provide accurate hand-off reports to teammates.
