Job summary

• Must hold valid EMT-B/A/I/P or nursing licensure in state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, including center physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and coordinate with occupational health/ER.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as indicated.
