Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Louisiana. You will assess donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings under physician guidance.

You will operate under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and BioLife/EHS guidance while supporting vaccination programs and donor safety.

Qualifications

• EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, or EMT-P licensed in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility with informed consent, medical history, and exam.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees when applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
