Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT background to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process. You will assess donors, determine eligibility, review test results, and work under center physicians and EHS guidance.

Qualifications

• EMT licensure in the state(s) where duties are assigned (EMT-B/A/I/P).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage donor safety/transport per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
