Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States is seeking an EMT-certified Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure donor safety and center operations.

This role emphasizes patient care, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with BioLife and Takeda teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT licensure/certification in state of responsibilities (EMT-B/A/I/P) or RN/LPN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and physical exam.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and medical guidance.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies; coordinate with Center Physician for standing orders and transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on abnormal findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalation.
• May serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
