Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Austin, TX is seeking Medical Support Specialists to assess donor eligibility, monitor safety, and support plasma collection operations. You will review test results, handle adverse events, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical concerns.

The role requires EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P), LPN/LVN or RN, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting. An emphasis on patient service and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibility (EMT-B / EMT-A / EMT-I / EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN)
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, screening, consent, medical history interview and physical examination
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as applicable
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu
• Manage employee incidents with occupational health/ER input; follow EHS guidance
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations
