Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Kyle, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT background to support plasma donation operations, determine donor eligibility and manage donor safety. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure medical and operational standards.

This role includes supporting vaccination programs, handling donor testing and adverse events, and maintaining compliance with regulatory guidance in a fast-paced center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, medical history, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance for occupational health considerations.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support related investigations.
