Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and review laboratory results within a regulated plasma collection environment.

You will follow guidelines from Center Manager and Center Physician, supporting vaccination programs and incident investigations while contributing to a high-quality patient-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate or equivalent.
• Licensed or certified EMT in applicable state (EMT-B/A/I/P) or LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, and self-exclusion; conduct medical history interview and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate medical emergencies with Center Physician.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation; follow EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
