Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to determine donor eligibility, assess donor safety, and review laboratory results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure safe plasma collection within a regulated environment.

You will contribute to donor care, manage adverse events, support vaccination programs, and participate in environmental, health and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program credential.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: EMT-B/A/I/Paramedic, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, and lab review (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with center standing orders and emergency transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation; follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics.
