Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety in a plasma center setting. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure quality care and compliance.

The role requires EMT licensure (any level), CPR/AED, and state IV therapy qualifications, with at least two years in a clinical environment. Expect comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; support Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation with occupational health/ER; follow EHS guidance.
