Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to support plasma donation operations. You will determine donor eligibility, perform medical history reviews, and assist with donor safety and equipment readiness.

The role involves clinical assessments, coordination with Center Physician, and involvement in vaccination programs and occupational health. A strong clinical background and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate from a recognized nursing program
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN
• CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies including Center Physician orders and donor transport
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/ER per EHS guidance
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs
