Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to ensure donor safety and eligibility in the plasma donation process. You will collaborate with Center Manager and Center Physician to follow SOPs, manage adverse events, and support EHS initiatives.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, adherence to FDA training, and participation in vaccination programs while contributing to a fast-paced, compassionate workplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife FDA approved training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with physician standing orders and donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if occupational health/ER evaluation is required.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations per EHS/Medical Affairs.
