Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor testing and adverse events under Center Manager guidance.

The role requires EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P) or RN/LPN/LVN, CPR/AED certification, and prior clinical experience. Expect a comprehensive benefits program and growth opportunities within Takeda family.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; include informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) per SOPs and arrange medical emergencies as needed.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
