Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to apply EMT skills in a plasma donation setting. You will assess donors, determine eligibility, and respond to any adverse events under physician guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: EMT‑B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN
• Current CPR and AED certification is required
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility with informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and documentation.
• Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
