Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety within plasma centers. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliant operations and high-quality donor care.

Requirements include EMT licensure, CPR/AED, and 2+ years in a clinical setting. The role includes vaccination program support, incident management, and potential Pandemic

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT licensure in the practicing state.
• CPR/AED certification current and valid.
• Qualified to perform donor eligibility assessment and medical history review.
• Familiarity with plasma collection regulations is preferred.
• Must complete BioLife-specific training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history.
• Assess donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical concerns.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.
• Manage occupational health incidents with EHS guidance.
• Assist as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

Skills

EMT family licenses

EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P

LPN/LVN or RN

CPR/AED certification

Two years clinical/hospital experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate

EMT certification/licensure (EMT‑B/EMT‑A/EMT‑I/EMT‑P)

CPR certification

Basic IV therapy eligibility (state licensure)
