Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety under Center Manager guidance.

The role requires EMT certification in the applicable state, CPR/AED, and clinical experience. You will work within a regulated plasma center environment with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed/certified in the state of responsibilities.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements where applicable.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, education and self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues or donor safety.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with Occupational Health/EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
