Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda Pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations and BioLife policies.

The role requires licensure in nursing or emergency medical services, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and verify lab tests.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for concerning findings or medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and consult EHS for guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
