Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Minnesota seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage donor reactions, review test results and support center operations. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure donor safety and adherence to SOPs.

The role emphasizes clinical assessment, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with EHS and Medical Affairs, with a focus on quality patient care in a plasma center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified in EMT/LPN/LVN/RN.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state requirements for IV therapy where applicable.
• Satisfactorily complete BioLife training for Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical exam and donor acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes.
• Support vaccination programs and incident reporting under EHS guidance.
