Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in San Antonio. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor events and review lab results under physician guidance and EHS oversight.

The role requires state-licensed healthcare professionals (EMT/Paramedic or RN/LPN), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting. Excellent patient service and compliance mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold applicable state licensure (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or LPN/LVN or RN)
• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program education
• Current CPR and AED certification
• State requirements for basic IV therapy
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and testing
• Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician
• Refer for medical issues and donor safety guidance to Medical Affairs or Center Physician
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs
