Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to aid plasma center operations by determining donor eligibility and reviewing test results. You will handle donor safety, adverse events, and communications under supervision from the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Requirements include EMT/Paramedic or RN/LPN licensure in the state, current CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting. BioLife offers benefits and growth within a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or nursing program equivalent is required.
• Active state license/certification in EMT or nursing practice is required.
• CPR and AED certification must be current.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent, nursing program graduate requirements

State licensure: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN
