Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

The role requires state licensure as EMT or RN/LPN as listed, CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN; CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on abnormal findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage incidents per EHS guidance and assist as Pandemic Coordinator if authorized.
