Responsibilities include grading psychomotor and affective performance, following the lab plan, participating in debriefs, and attending training. State paramedic or EMT license required; instructor orientation is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a state paramedic or EMT license in good standing.
  • 2 years in a prehospital system at the instructing level.
  • Complete School of EMS Instructor Orientation and onboarding steps.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to groups.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AV equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide live skills and scenario instruction during lab classes.
  • Support school mission and liaise with outside agencies.
  • Work with primary instructor and leadership to enforce policies.
  • Attend team meetings and annual training.
  • Grade students on psychomotor and affective abilities per syllabus.
  • Follow scheduled lab plan and report student progress.
  • Participate in debriefs and travel as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism and safety in all activities.
