Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an EMS Instructor to lead course development and instruction across EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic programs in Wisconsin and Illinois. The role emphasizes adult-learning techniques, assessment, and effective mentorship in a dynamic education team.

The position is 20 hours per week with on-site duties, including day and evening sessions, travel to student sites as needed, and a focus on quality outcomes and customer service in Mercyhealth’s education programs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a University or Community College with a degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline (i.e.: EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO, MD)
• RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program
• Two years of experience providing Emergency Care in Wisconsin licensed level

Responsibilities

• Lead course development and assessment for EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and related classes.
• Provide quality instruction across cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
• Apply Adult Learning principles in the classroom and monitor progress.
• Set clear goals and evaluate participant progress per state and agency criteria.
• Mentor and supervise novice instructors and guest teachers.
• Instruct at least one American Heart Association class (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
• Document and maintain accurate class records.
