Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an EMS Instructor to provide education and training across emergency care disciplines with leadership in course development. The role involves 20 hours per week of day-shift teaching at multiple sites, including campus and on-site locations.

The successful candidate will hold an Emergency Care degree/certificate, have Wisconsin EMS experience, and be eligible for certs in BLS/ACLS/PALS per AHA guidelines. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline (e.g., EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO or MD).
• RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program.
• Two years of Emergency Care experience in Wisconsin licensed level.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMT/AEMT/Paramedic course development and evaluation across classroom, lab, clinical and online formats.
• Provide quality instruction across cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
• Apply adult learning principles in instruction.
• Set clear course goals and monitor participant progress per state/agency criteria.
• Mentor and supervise novice instructors.
• Instruct in at least one American Heart Association class (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
• Maintain accurate class records and documentation.
• Teach using varied times/locations/formats (day/evening, campus, mobile sim lab, on-site).
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service to students and Mercyhealth partners.
