Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an EMS Instructor to educate and train emergency care providers under the supervision of the EMS Unit Supervisor. The role leads curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation across classroom, lab, clinical and online formats.

Responsibilities include developing EMT/AEMT/Paramedic courses, applying adult learning principles, mentoring new instructors, and delivering at least one AHA class while ensuring accurate documentation of all records.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a University or Community College with a degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline.
• RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and/or AHA course development per Wisconsin/State and national guidelines.
• Provide quality instruction across cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
• Apply adult learning principles to classroom instruction.
• Set clear goals and monitor progress according to agency criteria.
• Mentor and supervise novice instructors.
• Instruct in at least one American Heart Association class (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
• Maintain and submit accurate class records.
• Teach at varied times/locations based on student demand.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to Mercyhealth learners and partners.
