Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an EMS Instructor to educate and train emergency care providers at the Mercyhealth Prehospital and Emergency Services Center in Rockford, IL. The role leads curriculum development and delivers classroom, lab, clinical and online instruction under supervision.

This PRN/day-shift position requires BLS and at least one AHA instructor certification within 1 year, plus 2 years of emergency care experience in Wisconsin- or Illinois-licensed settings and travel up to 20% for

Qualifications

Graduation from a University or Community College with a degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline (i.e.: EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO, MD)
If RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program.
Two years of experience providing Emergency Care in one's State of Wisconsin Licensed level.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates the ability to provide quality instruction in all learning domains (Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective)
Applies the principles of Adult Learning to the classroom
Instructs in at least one of the American Heart Association Classes (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
Document, collect, maintain and submit accurate class records
Teach at varied time and places using varied formats based on student demand: Day or evening, main campus, mobile Sim lab or on site of students' employment.
