Job summary

AMR is seeking a Dispatcher to handle emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinate EMS resources, and document all actions accurately. The role requires strong communication, typing, and multitasking skills, with familiarity in 911 equipment and basic computer use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimal medical or telecommunications experience is preferred, or at least one year EMS/public safety dispatcher experience.
• Must be able to read and write English clearly.
• Capable of clear radio and telephone communications.
• Must record, transmit and report information accurately.
• Able to use all equipment assigned, including computers, 911 systems and recording devices.
• Capable of multitasking across simultaneous calls and tasks.
• Strong typing skills for rapid data entry and documentation.
• Basic computer applications should be understood.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services.
• Allocate EMS resources using approved protocols and decisions.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of paperwork before shift end.
• Enter shift data and State Run Report information accurately.
• Generate and verify applicable reports for the shift.
• Assist in locating incidents and determining fastest routes.
• Relay instructions and information from supervisors as directed.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Follow established notice formats for service requests.
• Operate and manage equipment including 911 systems and phones.
