Job summary

Global Medical Response (AMR) in Compton, CA seeks a Dispatcher who will act as a call-taker telecommunicator, receiving and managing ambulance requests from multiple sources and offering pre-arrival instructions.

Responsibilities include allocating EMS resources per protocols, maintaining accurate shift paperwork and data entry, and generating reports. High school diploma or equivalent and EMS/public safety dispatcher experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher or minimal medical/telecommunications training.
• Skilled in reading and writing English.
• Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
• Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
• Ability to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned to him/her.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record and manage ambulance requests from various sources.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions as indicated.
• Allocate EMS resources using approved protocols.
• Maintain complete and accurate paperwork prior to shift end.
• Ensure accurate data entry for the shift and State Run Report data entry.
• Generate reports and verify accuracy.
