Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher for our elementary learners. You’ll design engaging lessons, deliver targeted instruction, and plan based on IEP goals within learning center or classroom settings.

In a collaborative environment, you’ll implement PBIS, track progress, and coordinate with families and staff to support at‑risk students. Strong crisis‑management readiness and technology skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or special education.
• Active IL PEL credential or in process.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential in progress or holding.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction.
• Experience in alternate/special education or behavioral health settings.
• IEP experience and knowledge of applicable services and compliance.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
• Familiarity with MS Office, databases, and instructional technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction with adaptive curricula and schedules.
• Design differentiated instruction in co‑teaching environments.
• Develop and implement IEP goals, interventions and progress reports.
• Maintain organized classrooms, lesson plans and materials.
• Track student progress and generate detailed reports.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues and administrators.
• Apply PBIS strategies and reinforce school-wide expectations.
• Perform additional duties to support the program.
