Job description

Garver's exceptional Human Resources team is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist. Under the general supervision of the Employee Experience Leader, this position plays a critical role in supporting Garver’s culture and fostering positive relationships between employees and managers. This position is responsible for promoting a positive work environment, addressing and resolving workplace issues, and ensuring compliance with employment law.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance on workplace matters.
  2. Assist in the performance management process, including guiding managers on handling performance-related issues, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
  3. Conduct thorough employee investigations into employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions.
  4. Stay informed about employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
  5. Provide advice to supervisors and employees regarding compliance with regulations and laws.
  6. Conduct stay and exit interviews.
  7. Prepare reports on employee relations for management review.
  8. Develop effective relationships with supervisors and employees to promote a positive employee experience.
  9. Provide support in other areas of the Employee Experience team as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of progressively responsible HR experience.
  3. Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements related to employment law.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
