Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an Employee Benefits Director, Relationship Management to lead our East Region team and drive persistency, growth, and customer satisfaction. You will oversee a senior group of Relationship Managers and Client Relationship Executives, shaping segment strategy with AVP and peers.

The position offers hybrid or remote work; near Hartford offices, in-office 3 days/week (Tue–Thu) and up to 30% travel to support client needs and cross-functional goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Group Benefits experience with at least five years in relationship management.
• At least five years’ experience leading teams; highly effective inspirational leader desired.
• Group Life & Health license required along with ongoing Continuing Education requirements to maintain license(s).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Able and willing to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Relationship Management leaders and professionals.
• Drive persistency, growth, and customer satisfaction across the book of business.
• Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to strengthen client relationships.
• Partner with Sales, Underwriting, Claims, Legal, Product, and Service leaders to deliver consultative solutions.
• Drive renewal, cross-functional execution, and overall portfolio performance.
