Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services in Starbuck, MN is seeking a Care Attendant for on-call shifts to provide personal care and health-related services that support residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, dressing and grooming, medication assistance as delegated by RN, monitoring changes, documenting observations, and participating in emergency drills.

Qualifications

• ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate is preferred, but not required.
• Care Attendant must possess sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and pass a state required background study.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares and activities of daily living.
• Assist with dressing, grooming and oral care as assigned.
• Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Promote independence and offer choices to residents.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition to RN.
• Medication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
• Take and record vital signs as instructed.
• Assist with meal preparation as needed following special plans.
• Lead or assist resident activities as scheduled.
