Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency care team. You will handle a wide range of cases, from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with doctors and teammates to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care.

This role involves triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, with opportunities to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment alongside passionate VEGgies.

Qualifications

  • CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential in the VEG practice state is required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Triage to discharge including nursing care, treatments and emotional support.
  • Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and monitoring.
  • Prepare and administer medications, monitoring, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with doctors to plan care and maintain smooth patient flow.
  • Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and tubes placement.
  • Assist anesthesia across diverse cases and patient conditions.

Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology (AVMA accredited)
