Job summary

VEG seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team, delivering gold-standard, compassionate care when every second counts. You’ll work with doctors on triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You are CVT/RVT/LVMT with AVMA-accredited training, 1+ year in emergency medicine, strong communication, and comfort with busy hospitals, night shifts, and exposed odors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in veterinary technology preferred.
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus.
  • 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR systems.
  • Excellent communicator; able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment.
  • Able to stand for long hours; lift up to 25 kg; assist up to 40 kg.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a rotating schedule.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care from triage to discharge in emergencies.
  • Perform treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Handle IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and related tasks.
  • Communicate with teammates and help shape care plans.
  • Support CPR and advanced procedures with experienced team.
  • Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and tubing placement.
  • Support anesthesia, including procedures for fragile patients.
  • Utilize advanced techniques and equipment as needed.
