Job summary

VEG for Pets is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You’ll handle a wide range of emergencies alongside doctors, providing compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll participate in triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents through stressful moments. Opportunities for growth and mentorship are available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in veterinary technology from AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of VEG practice required.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing on emergencies.
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Handle meds, monitoring, IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions as needed.
• Communicate with team and help shape care plans to maintain flow.
• Perform CPR and participate in RECOVER trainings.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and placing tubes.
• Provide anesthesia, including for fragile patients, and use advanced techniques.
