Job summary

VEG is seeking Veterinary nursing Shift Leads to coordinate shift rhythm, ensure top‑tier patient care, and support VEGgies on the floor. You’ll guide rounds, break coverage, and coaching to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced ER environment.

You will lead with heart and hustle, empowering your team to deliver exceptional care while developing professionally through learning programs and on‑the‑floor mentorship.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) or in VEG Credentialing Support Program preferred.
• 1+ year in veterinary technician or assistant role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient status, team bandwidth, and shift needs in view.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot during emergencies.
• Assign and adapt shift roles with clarity and care.
• Contribute on the floor when needed to support care.
• Coordinate breaks and resolve conflicts calmly.
• Lead shift transitions and end-of-day wrap-ups.
• Communicate clearly and escalate issues as needed.
• Turn downtime into learning opportunities.
• Flag incidents for transparency and growth.
• Collaborate with leadership on coverage and coaching.
