VEG is seeking a Veterinary Nursing Shift Lead to coordinate shifts, maintain smooth flow, and ensure top-tier patient care. You will guide VEGgies on the floor, manage coverage, and coach teams for continuous improvement in a fast-paced ER setting.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) or enrolled in VEG Credentialing Support Program.
• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Leadership instincts, ownership mindset, and a desire to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Keep a clear pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot when the unexpected hits.
• Ensure shift roles are assigned and adapted with clarity and care.
• Jump in on the floor when help is needed; no task is too small.
• Coordinate breaks, resolve conflicts, and model calm under pressure.
• Lead shift transitions, team huddles, and end-of-day wrap-ups.
• Communicate clearly and elevate key issues.
• Turn downtime into learning moments for the team.
