Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our frontline emergency team in a fast-paced hospital setting. You’ll work with doctors and the care team across triage, treatment, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, delivering gold-standard, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• / High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited VT degree strongly preferred.
• / Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation
• / 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• / Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping
• / Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you
• / Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
• / Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg; can assist to 40 kg
• / Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
• / Works well in a fast-paced environment with diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and monitoring.
• Administer meds, monitor patient status, and manage IVs and transfusions.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to maintain smooth care flow.
• Perform CPR when needed and support RECOVER training
• Operate diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placement
• Manage anesthesia for diverse patient cases, including fragile ones
• Utilize advanced tools like central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds
