Job summary

VEG is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced veterinary emergency team. You will work alongside doctors to triage, treat, and monitor a wide range of emergencies, from minor to complex cases, delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

You'll participate in anesthesia, diagnostics, and critical care nursing, while growing your skills through mentorship and structured learning programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role, emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR practice management familiarity.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg, work in noisy environment; night/weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support to patients in emergencies.
• Assist with triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care.
• Administer meds and IVs, monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan patient care.
• Support CPR and participate in RECOVER training.
• Handle diagnostics and imaging; collect samples.
• Assist anesthesia for fragile patients and use advanced techniques as needed.
