Job summary

VEG is seeking a Nursing Trainer to help others grow in emergency veterinary medicine. You’ll lead with curiosity, coach with compassion, and develop staff through on-the-floor mentoring and peer-led sessions.

You’ll create educational tools and tailor training to diverse learning styles across the hospital. Your role blends hands-on training with strategic program development, including VEG's Cultivate initiative, mentoring, and content creation while aligning with VEG's culture and care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program preferred
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of practice; VTS in ECC or related areas is a plus
• Emergency medicine knowledge and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs with leadership
• Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through observation
• Lead VEG training programs and act as the training lead at hospitals
• Split time between on-floor mentoring and strategic development
• Develop training content (presentations, videos, simulations) and ensure alignment with VEG standards
